FAB 40+ DAVID JAMES ELLIOT

DAVID JAMES ELLIOT

David William Smith was born September 21, 1960 in Milton, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto in which he also grew up, as well as in The Bahamas. He quit high school to try to make it in a rock band, but failed in the attempt, and returned to school. David then went to Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto and then auditioned for Stratford Shakespeare Festival, which accepted him and launched his acting career.  When he moved to Los Angeles, he took the stage name of David James Elliot because there was already an actor named David Smith (to no one's surprise). He worked steadily for five years before landing the lead in the late night CBS series Fly By Night, which was any good lusty boy's introduction to the fabulous DJE!

SUIT UP

HUSBAND MATERIAL

Pretend all you like, but this picture had you making a "measuring" joke, didn't it?

"See?  Right there!  That's Derek, who daddy will be moving in with once he's done
with all of this heterosexual nonsense."

PRISON HOTNESS

BAD BOYS, WHATCHA GONNA DO?
The All American Boy...from Canada
However, David and his wife became American citizens in the early 2000s.

TRIATHLONNING

J*A*G
After completing a stint on the original Melrose Place, David would land the role that would make him a household name, playing a Judge Advocate General in this military series. His handsome looks were put to great use in every uniform known to man. Yum!

 SHIRTS & SKINS
Because he's always been a TV actor, and because Hollywood NEVER, EVER, EVER knows a great thing when they see it, David has never had a film career, which means he has never done any nudity, which means I am  majorly pissed about it. Here's the best skinning we get from the fabulous DJE...

A year go this Spring, ABC worked very hard at destroying a really fun show with a fantastic cast, GCB. The show got its name from the book Good Christian Bitches, but Americans are soooooo sensitive about the word "bitch."  Entertainment can shoot, rape, strangle or stab a woman, or even throw her over a cliff, but you can't call her a bitch! Anyhoo, the show was quite funny and David showed a real (and heretofore unseen) funny bone, playing opposite musical theatre queen Kristin Chenoweth. If you can see all the shows online, do yourself a favor and enjoy it. It is in the vein of Desperate Housewives and woulda, coulda, shoulda been a hit, had ABC not given it a name that sounded like a diet supplement and planted this naughty show on Sunday nights.

  3. Thanks tri and xyz. :)

Tri, that is so funny, because my 90 year old aunt LOVES DJE, too. She is very taciturn, so I was completely amazed when she said she liked JAG and further admitted that much of it had to do with "that guy's good looks." LOL! A man for all ages, evidently.

  4. I love him too--thanks D! There was an episode where he and some friend I think get into a bit of a slug fest for some reason. Oh he was hot standing there shirtless--trading blows with his bud! ;)
